Birding:  The Texas Coastal Bend is one of the best bird watching environments in the world.  There are thousands of species that call this area home, at least for part of each year.  Notably, the endangered Whooping Crane is a huge attraction for bird enthusiasts, and there are packaged tours available to see these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat.

For more information, go to www.whoopingcranetours.com or call (877) TX-BIRDS.  This website also has information about dolphin cruises and more.  Also, you can visit www.texaswhoopers.com or call Rockport Tours: (800) 782-2473 or (361) 729-4855.

There are also numerous opportunities for specific interests.  For those interested in birding and nature photography,

Local bird watching sites, scattered throughout the Coastal Bend and even within the city of Corpus Christi are available here.  One excellent location, Blucher Park, is within a mile of the Hotel.
